About this OER Digital Textbook1

Hello. My name is Laura Mandell. I am a Professor of English and Digital Humanities at Texas A&M University. In the field of English Literature, I focus on 18th century and British Romantic literature, which is to say literary artistic and popular works created roughly between 1750 and 1850.The "Romantics" aren't poets who only write about love but rather poets embracing certain styles and cultural perspectives at play during their historical era. Find out more. My focus in the field of Digital Humanities is Digital Editing. You can see more about me here.decorative

The students in my Fall 2024 British Romanticism class and I created our own course textbook. The goal of this textbook is to gather together for reader-viewers not only our own work but the best of the best that is available on the Internet in this field.

Our own work includes: coding some romantic poems (in xml and html), exploring them in Voyant, analyzing them in both traditional essays and interpretation through coding, and offering users the opportunity to comment on various texts. Links within the document take you to this work. Sites that we consult and use as we study Romantic Era literature are linked displaying this outlink icon: decorative.

More information is available for instructors.

And now, I wish to introduce the student writers, coders, and editors:
